My best memory of Philippe Noiret remains his role in "Cinema Paradisio". At the time my parents took me to see him at the movies, I was just ten years old ... about the same age as Toto, the main character of this story. I had no trouble identifying myself with this kid, taken under his wing by a passionate projectionist, Alfredo, who made him discover the art of dreaming through images. Through the disappearance of Philippe Noiretit's this Alfredo, who has been my greatest friend for the duration of the film, who has just left me again.
