1 in 5 mom would find her baby ugly at birth

Usually a taboo subject, these results may well make young parents feel less guilty about the physique of their newborns. If 18% of the English are disappointed by the physiognomy of their babyonly 8% of them dare to admit it to another person and half to their spouse.

"What's so beautiful!"
We have all said this sentence at least once, looking dazzled, in front of the offspring of a friend, a relative or a neighbor ... even if we thought otherwise. Why ? Because the social pressure is such that each child must be a marvel for his parents.

Let's stop lying!
We have to face the reality, all the births, as moving as they are, do not give babies perfect! When some babies have the look of infants, others are much less spoiled by nature. "We have to stop doing a good job ... there are babies who are frankly not pretty ... A parent has the right to feel that. " Explains Catherine Gentile, therapist. It must be put into perspective, this does not mean that the child will be ugly later. The physics of babies changes at high speed V and there is a good chance that all small defects will fade in the days following thedelivery.

And love in all this ?
We do not like our children for their physique, so why not use common sense? "You can love your child and be able to say if, objectively, it is not beautiful" reassures Catherine Gentile.
