6 tips for choosing your wedding menu

Look out for your guests
A guest is allergic to seafood? Another is vegetarian? To avoid any unforeseen, ask your guests to specify any intolerance or food allergy when sending the announcement. Also pay attention to various religious sensitivities. Your loved ones will be sensitive to your gesture. In addition, be sure to submit a menu in the center of each table. The guests will be able to inform the caterer in case of concern.

Buffet or meal served on the plate?
If a buffet costs less than a meal served on the plate, it is also less elegant. But this choice also depends on the mood you want to give your wedding. For a country and convivial spirit, a buffet is particularly indicated. For a wedding more chic, prefer the meal served on the plate. However, not all guests appreciate getting up from the table between dish. And not everyone likes to sit for hours either. To please everyone, prefer a buffet for starter and cheese. And opt for a dish and one dessert served on the plate.

The budget, a decisive element
The budget determines the menu but also the number of dishes. In fact, some restaurants offer the bride and groom a choice between a two or three dishes, understand: an entree, a meat and a fish. To save money and lighten the belly of your guests, prefer a meal with two dishes. This is largely enough as they have already nibbled at the reception. And as it remains the cheese, the dessert and the mounted piece. Better to leave room!

The Norman hole, not required
It is customary to serve a white wine for starter and fish, red wine for dish, and champagne or sparkling wine for dessert. The Norman hole is therefore optional. However, to make a well-appreciated break during the meal, serve a sherbet anyway. Then privilege originality. Opt for example a thyme-lemon sorbet, basil-lime or blood orange.

Beware of unpleasant surprises
To save some money, it is recommended to buy your own wine. But some restaurateurs then pay a corkage fee to serve your bottles. It varies from 2 to 15 euros per bottle and can even climb more. Make sure your caterer practices no corkage fee. Also pay extra attention to the numbers of servers. Do they stay until the end of the party? Or do you have to pay extra per hour and per person from midnight? Also make sure that the caterer takes care of ridding dirty dishes and washing dishes, because again, this is not always the case. So distrust!

The mounted piece, indispensable!
Although it may seem kitsch, the mounted piece is an essential part of a wedding. And often, the guests are waiting impatiently. It marks the beginning of the party! Even if you are not a fan of this cake, it remains a must, just like the dragees. Bet on a mounted piece that throws. Ask for it to be an airplane and an airport for an air traffic controller. In addition, know that some pastry chefs offer different flavors to garnish cabbages. Educate yourself. Finally, for more originality, opt for a piece mounted in macaroons or candies. And savor it all with a rosé champagne. Your guests will remember for a long time your wedding and his menu dream !
