8 keys to successful hair removal

1. Make scrubs
It is important to make a scrub skin, or two, during the week before hair removal, to rid it of impurities and dead cells. The hairs will tear more easily. And this will limit the appearance of ingrown hairs (when the hair grows twisted under the skin and causes the formation of buttons that can become infected).

2. How to choose your hair removal method
Also pay attention to your hair removal method. For the jersey and armpits, more sensitive areas and more fragile, it is generally recommended to bring a depilatory cream, less aggressive than an epilator or a strip of wax. This solution will not tear the hair at the root, but simply dissolve it chemically. The regrowth will be faster. This solution will nevertheless satisfy the more cozy. For legs, prefer a session of electric epilator or wax. Two methods that guarantee you to be quiet for a little while. Only downside here: the appearance of ingrown hairs. The must therefore remains pulsed hair removal, which promises a total disappearance of hair, and for life, without suffering martyrdom.

3. Apply talcum powder

In case of high heat or perspiration, it is necessary to apply talc on the legs, the jersey or underarms, before proceeding to the hair removal stage. To prevent the skin from getting stuck in the epilator, the wax has many residues or the razor slips hard on the skin. Sweating will indeed block the passage of these different shaving tools and make hair removal more complicated, but also more painful.

4. Finish with tweezers

Despite the passage of the epilator, wax, razor or cream, it happens very often that a few hairs remain. However, it is not necessary to start again, your session of hair removal with great pomp. A simple tweezers will suffice to eliminate the last recalcitrant hairs. This will prevent further sensitization of your skin.

5. Remove residues
We are interested here in wax. For those who would have opted for this mode of hair removal, it is indeed necessary to know it: it may be that it remains, at the end of your session, some residues of wax. To get rid of it and avoid burns, only one solution: olive oil. A good recipe for grandmother, who has already proven itself, and who will nourish more intensely the skin. All good!

6. Disinfect

It is important to disinfect your skin before and after hair removal. Regarding the front, just wash the parts you want to depilate, under the shower, with a soap. For the after, opt for a stone of alum, known for its antiseptic virtues, to pass on your skin, still wet, out of your shower. This will prevent the appearance of ingrown hairs, but also reduce redness.

7. Hydrate

This step is essential. After having tortured your skin for long minutes, you will need to wash the shaved parts, then coat them with a moisturizer or aftershave, to soothe and nourish the skin deeply. The hair removal will indeed dry out your skin. Failure to hydrate it would only aggravate the situation, resulting in tightness and discomfort.

8. Do not expose yourself to the sun
Prohibition of tanning in the sun after a session of hair removal. Your skin, very sensitized and assaulted by your hair pulling, will not support, in addition, exposure to UV rays. You could indeed catch some nasty sunburns. Result: burned and damaged skin. Not very glamorous when it comes to strutting on the beach ...
