A booklet to better understand the packaging of cosmetics

The Federation of Beauty Companies (Febea, ex-Fipar) announced the creation of a brochure called "Labeling, instructions for use".
Available on the internet, on the websites Febea.fr and Parlonscosmetiques.com, this brochure aims to help the general public to better read the packaging of products cosmetics, and in particular the mandatory information which is affixed to it.

The publication specifies the list of information that must appear on the packaging of products cosmeticssuch as the country of manufacture, the quantity of product available, or the batch of manufacture.

The booklet also explains how the "period after opening of a product" (PAO) is determined, that is to say the life of the product once opened. This mention is indicated by the symbol of an open pot, with an indication in months. For example, "6M" means that a product remains compliant with safety standards imposed on it for 6 months after it is opened.

On the other hand, the booklet "Labeling, instructions for use" allows to know the tricks to better preserve its products, and to avoid errors. The basic tips: to keep the packaging of its cosmetics well closed, do not store them in bright light, do not share them, or do not dilute them.

Finally, consumers can learn about the names of allergenic substances likely to hide in cosmeticsas well as the steps to take to obtain more information about a product.
