An aggressive world
Brigitte learns to bear the cold that freezes her blood, hunger, grime, to overcome her fear and the aggressiveness of the other homeless. "It was almost worse than at home so violence was constantly present." To protect herself, she makes a point of not falling into alcoholism and drugs. "When a woman drinks, men make her what they want, it's terrible, it goes from hand to hand, but it's so tempting to give up." Especially as for Brigitte, who the beginning falls on the bad interlocutors, with in particular this inhuman social assistant, incompetent which asks him to tell his story for the umpteenth time, to provide all sorts of administrative papers whereas she knows that she has nothing more. "You have to run from one end of the city to the other, it's exhausting especially when you're not sleeping and you're hungry."
