Anne Le Nen: "No need to be sporty to follow the Krav Maga Commando course"
Can you explain to us how your Krav Maga Commando courses are?
These courses take place once a month, Sunday at the Parc des Princes in Paris. They last 3:30. At each session, we start with a warm-up, then I show some movements to the students. For example, tips to defend yourself with his handbag, very convenient for women! I try to give advice that corresponds to the real-life situations of everyday life.
What is the profile of the participants?
From 14 (the minimum age required) to 65, no need to be sporty to participate. After each one adapts according to his physical condition. The exercises are done in pairs, so the strongest get together and help beginners.
What are their motivations?
Strangely, it is not necessarily women who have already been attacked. Some want to learn to defend themselves, others come to let off steam. I have received very touching testimonials from people who explain how to feel better through their internships. They have regained confidence and self-esteem.

There has been a fashion effect for 3, 4 years already but it is especially the DVD (small survival guide for urban women) that has attracted attention. The fact that Muriel Robin partners with the DVD and participates in it has changed a lot of things. She is a very media godmother.
What advice do you give during your internships?
Common sense advice, starting with good legs and some neurons (laughs). For example, avoid strolling or 3am in a dark parking lot, and if you feel that someone is following you in the street, change sidewalk ... It is important to be attentive to its environment and to anticipate dangerous situations. And if you really get stuck, it's good to know how to defend yourself with a few techniques.
