Back on the mythical bag of the Chanel house: The 2.55

If we find the Kelly and the Birkin at Hermès, the Speedy at Louis Vuitton, or more "recently" the Motorcycle at Balenciaga, we must admit that the 2.55 Chanel remain in everything and for all bag mythical par excellence. Worn by all the stars, coveted by all fashionistas, this little gem of leathercraft leaves absolutely no woman indifferent! With its refined line and could not be more elegant, the 2.55 has survived the ages and become a real object of luxury.

For the little story, it's Coco Chanel herself who created this bag in February 1955, hence the name 2.55 ... Logic when you think about it! Weary by the pockets that are only worn by hand, Gabrielle Chanel embarked on the making of a bag as beautiful as practical. And so was born the 2.55 Chanel.

Rectangular, this bag is distinguished by its quilted effect and very discreet clasp beautifully called "clasp Mademoiselle". It is especially equipped with a chain shoulder strap braided with a leather strap, for greater ease.
Subsequently, in the 80s, the 2.55 was replaced and especially revisited by the artistic director of the house of the street Cambon, Karl Lagerfeld. In its new youth, the 2.55 has become slightly more "bling-bling" by trading its "clasp Mademoiselle" against a logo made of two famous "c" intertwined. His name has also changed to be called the Timeless Classic ... A true international success!
But for our pleasure, the 2.55 has made a comeback in 2005 on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of its creation. The 2.55 has been seen back on the market but this time with a slight change, a neck strap available in gold or silver, without any leather strap.

To be honest, whatever the model, the pleasure of wearing a 2.55 or Timeless is limitless. So for all those who can, do not hesitate and go get this essential accessory. And for others, do like me, try to get it off ... Who knows?
