Bilingual schools Under the label "bilingual" are grouped very different structures. In some, teaching is actually provided in two languages, respecting an hourly parity. In others, students will benefit from a greater number of language courses than in traditional programs.
Before you register your child, take the time to study the pedagogy of the school. Most of the time, these
schools are private, and registration fees can be high. But there are exceptions: in the academy of Strasbourg, French / German courses also exist in the public, starting from primary. If your children have always been bilingual, you can also apply to international sections.
The bilingual classes Beware of confusion, it is not a question of studying some of the subjects in another language, nor of increasing the number of hours of English or Spanish. The principle: from the sixth grade, students study two living languages instead of just one. This earlier initiation into a second language is offered in a number of colleges, each setting a couple of languages for the section.
European sections This device has been very popular with students and their parents. Starting in the fourth year, middle school students receive additional lessons in their first language. Then, in second, it will be used in another subject, such as math or history.
