Calcium versus cancer

We knew calcium good for the bones. From now on, we know it's good against cancers. Indeed, a report published last February 23 in the magazine "Archive of internal medicine" reveals that men and women consuming a lot of calcium are less likely to contract Cancer colorectal or another Cancer of the digestive system.
Women consuming a lot of calcium are less likely to contract Cancer, whatever its type.
Nearly 300,000 men and 200,000 women participated in this US national study. A large study based on a questionnaire decrypting their eating habits. The responses measured the amount of dairy products and other foods they consumed during this period.
After approximately 7 years of follow-up, 36,965 cancers were identified in men and 16,605 in women. If the consumption of calcium was not associated with the number of cancers in men, however, it has been in the case of women.
The researchers observed that the risk of Cancer decreases in women who consume up to 1,300 milligrams of calcium per day. Below this dose, no risk reduction was observed.
One of the authors of the report, Dr. Yikyung Park, states: "Milk-based food, relatively high in anticarcinogenic potential as the calcium, vitamin D and conjugated linoleic acid protect against the development of Cancer colorectal and chest ".
We can find calcium in dairy products in general, but also in green vegetables such as broccoli and spinach, or seeds and dried fruits (hazelnuts, almonds, sunflower seeds ..). Then at your forks!
