Childbirth: for or against the "birth photographer"?

"Thedeliveryit's very intimate, almost as much as the conception of baby. So I have no pictures of my deliveries. Everything is in my head and that of my husband, "says Caroline." I find this trend very narcissistic, it is still a way to stage his pregnancy, as the pictures of big belly on facebook ", said for his Nadia share.

For Aurélie, one of the few professionals in France to photograph deliveries at home, far from being narcissistic, the motivations of parents are primarily focused on baby : "The parents wish to make a gift to their baby immortalizing the first moments of his life. "In the background comes the will to keep for himself a trace of all the details of this moment that we can not live 100%, too focused on the contractions for example for the mum. It is also, explains the photographer, a way to free the dad from the load of the photos, and thus to allow him to support his companion.

Respect for privacy
If the photos once the baby born are touching, the whole process of work and deliverance - legs on the stirrup, grimaces of pain, baby Barely born, covered with lanugo and blood, can strike some sensibilities. On the forums, some do not hesitate to describe as "disgusting" some clichés. But for the most part, it's just nature.

For our part, our photographer works in black and white and focuses above all on emotions. But above all, these reports are the fruit of an exchange with the parents : "Before'delivery, I discuss with parents in order to know their limit. For example, I ask them if during the eviction, I have to focus on the baby, or rather on the face of the mum or that of the father. "And to conclude that these photos are above all" love and emotion ".
