Coco Chanel invites herself into a comic strip

After being the subject of many books like "The pace of Chanel"Paul Morand and" The Irregular or My Itinerary Chanel"Edmonde Charles-Roux, the legendary fashion designer Coco Chanel is invited for the first time in a comic book published by Naïve.

A few months from the 100th anniversary of the opening of the first shop in the Hotel Normandy in Deauville, the designer Bernard Ciccolini had the excellent idea to imagine a comic book on the life and work of the mythical fashion designer Coco Chanel. On a screenplay by Pascale Frey, the journalist faithfully traces in words the major stages of the life of the one who revolutionized the fashion of the twentieth century. From the orphanage where she spent part of her childhood with her two sisters, to her incredible encounters with the greatest artists of her time through the glory she has known thanks to her fashion house and the rebirth of the house when she is 71 years old ... everything is abstract on a background of watercolor.
A singular destiny, a strength of character and a touching work to be found in this comic strip summarizing, more than a life: a legend.

Pascale Frey & Bernard Ciccolini (illustrations): Coco Chanel, ed. Naïve, "Grands Destins de Femmes" collection (104 pages) 23 euros on sale since March 7th.
