Cooking tips: lots of possibilities with puff pastry

Whether sold in rolls, squares or dough, puff pastry has the advantage of lending itself to both sweet and savory. It's true, but we do not always know what job to do so here are some simple ideas that you can reproduce easily.

Aperitif
Some friends arrive unexpectedly? Do not panic, preheat your oven and make a few cheese matches with grated Gruyère in no time. Just roll out the dough, put a good amount of cheese on half and cover the other half. Weld the 2 parts well and cover again with cheese then cut into strips. In 10 minutes will be ready you will just put them in the oven. Attention, the puff pastry cooks quickly so watch the cooking. Another last-minute idea: make mini-croissants with cheese, ham, pesto ...
If the croissants are not in your strings, you can simply make a big roll with your puff pastry after having garnished (cheese + ham for example). Slice it into thin slices and put in the oven.
Always for the aperitif, if you lack bread to spread the tapenade or other tomato caviar, cut into small squares your dough, oil slightly with a brush and flour. Put everything in the oven just until it's golden. And here are homemade crunchy toasts! You can even taste them as they are, but sprinkle them with a little garlic powder, parmesan or a mixture of spices.

Entrance
Cut into large squares, the puff pastry will become a beautiful crisp sandwich on which we will put mushrooms back to the pan with a hint of garlic for example. To accompany a green salad and some dried fruits.
Always with mushrooms, you can roll and make rolls stuffed with a little bechamel.

In flat
Puff pastry offers many possibilities for making dishes. Most often, it's the salty Tart that we will do. Easy, just unroll it and put it in a mold and prepare the filling. The best is to fill it with vegetables, with a little cheese, eggs and cream. The onion pie is perfect, provided you do not be afraid to cry by cutting 3-4 onions in a row.
You can also get inspired by sweet and make slippers stuffed with vegetables, meat (rather white) or poultry. In this case, they must not be too small, counting about one slipper per roll or two if the filling is rather bourrative.

For dessert
For dessert, everything is also allowed! You can very well use puff pastry to make a beautiful sweet pie (apples, pears, ...) or make apple slippers or Nutella for the greediest.
If you are good at folding, do not hesitate to make palm trees just sprinkled with sugar or filled with a little chocolate, compote, etc. You can also simply cut into long slices, pour a little powdered sugar or cinnamon and roll them on themselves.
