Delivered in an elegant bottle of 37.5 cl to underline its rare and precious character, the straw wine is the fruit of a long and meticulous vinification: the grapes are dried (air-dried) during 2 to 3 months then pressed when the juice is more than a concentrate of aromas and flavors. The fermentation then lasts more than a year and the breeding is prolonged in oak barrels until the end of the third year.
Coming from an assemblage of Chardonnay, Savagnin and Poulsard, the 2004 La Vignière Straw Wine HENRI MAIRE was able to benefit from relatively late harvests during a very sunny September. The grapes, rich in sugar, gave a sublime nectar to the remarkable personality.
First owner of the Jura with more than 300 ha of vines, HENRI MAIRE relies on ancestral know-how since 1632.
