General Elektriks goes back on stage with a new album

He is called the wizard of keyboards. General Elektriks is not a band, it's a man jumping behind his vintage keyboards. This little genius of music is called RV, his real name Hervé Salters, a Franco-British that we absolutely can not put in a music drawer. This keyboards specialist from the 60s and 70s has already proven himself alongside M and DJ Mehdi or in the Vercoquin group, and the many genres he approaches amaze us.

Electro, pop, funk ...

General Elektriks' debut album, Cliquety Kliqk, was already a real treat, especially with the hit song "Tu m'trtrues". But RV and its vintage keyboards did not stop there. The second album that promises to be a cardboard too, "Good City for Dreamers", fascinates us and surprises us with each title.

First, it looks like a mix of soft and planing electro style Air or MGMT. We are invaded by good waves from the first listening, then the talent and technique of each piece we hang, we own, and we leave speechless.

RV is a nomad, with diverse musical influences and unclassifiable style. His album was conceived in the cellars of Paris, San Francisco and Seattle, and the latest fashions were made in Berkeley, his current residence. General Electriks draws with the same intensity in pop, electro, hip-hop, soul, funk and jazz. You see, impossible to classify it! David Bowie, Michael Jackson or Steevie Wonder are for him references.

Already a success

We love RV delusions and its alternations between instrumental and vocal. Risk taking for this album that deserves to be listened to many times to capture all the subtleties. No title looks like the other, but all move us with happiness. "Little Lady" is already number 1 on the Nova playlist. The style is far from homogeneous, even within the same piece where we go from pop to electro with folk or jazzy solos.

Even for the uninitiated, this album is a symbol of inventiveness. Sometimes we do not expect it at all, a small solo tickles our ears, we are surprised, we can sometimes even start a little grimace, but it's worth it to listen to the songs in full because some passages are all simply magical.
