Hair removal with pulsed light: quésaco?

For some time, we have seen new ways of epilation without experiencing epidermal torture. One of his favorite techniques is pulsed light hair removal. More practical and less expensive than laser hair removal because it is practiced from his bedroom, or his bathroom, it falls into the category of painless and long-lasting hair removal.

How it works ?
The basic principle is that the light emitted by the epilator is absorbed by the hair. This light reaches 70 ° C and thus destroys the hair and only the hair. The goal being that in the end, it does not push back or almost no. The pigment of the hair that gives it its color will be heated and transmit this heat to the hair bulb, which will be destroyed. This technique varies from laser hair removal because the light emission spectrum is wider and therefore there are several wavelengths instead of just one for the laser. The light is distributed by pulsations.

How do you do at home?
Two to three days before the use of the pulsed light epilator, it is necessary that fur have been shaved. Indeed, the more the hair is thick and dark, the easier it will be spotted by the light and the more efficient the technique. It is also imperative to protect your eyes with glasses and apply a gel that allows optical transmission (a bit similar to that applied during an ultrasound).

Does it really work?

It takes an average of seven times the pulsed light epilator to see lasting effects. In theory, this type of hair removal prevents up to 90% of hair regrowth. fur. Depending on the device, we consider that a hair removal once a month over twelve months allows a destruction of all fur. Note that devices available on the market do not have the same power as those used by a dermatologist. We must therefore rely on a longer use to really see results.

Mandatory precaution!

Pulsed light hair removal requires the same precautions as laser hair removal. It is therefore best to consult a doctor before considering this type of hair removal. Also, watch out for moles and damaged skin. Not everyone can pretend to hair removal with pulsed light. Indeed, the principle of this light aimed at melanin, therefore the pigmentation of the hair, it is necessary that it is well visible and well differentiated from the color of the epidermis. It is therefore not recommended for black and matte skin or even for fur blond and red to use this epilator.
