In the sun: how to expose yourself in peace

Sun burn, premature aging of the skin, skin cancer, cataracts, allergies, dehydration, ... if we are not careful, the sun we want to see so much during our holidays can turn into a formidable enemy. Here are your weapons to defend you!

A good protective cream is indispensable. A Solar cream must have a "FSP" index of at least 30 and must be spread generously on all parts of the body, especially on the ears, nose, lips, neck, shoulders and décolleté. Also, think of hands and feet that protrude from clothing and experience intense radiation.

Sun glasses quality protect your eyes from UV which can cause burns.

A hat provides shade to the top of the skull, which can not be protected otherwise and is particularly exposed to solar radiation. It also houses the eyes and face when the visor is large enough.

A water bottle must always accompany you during the summer. Proper hydration helps prevent heat stroke.

A T-shirt long-sleeved, or even an anti-UV t-shirt for bathing, remains one of the most effective ways to protect yourself from the sun too strong.

An anti-burn cream should be applied as soon as possible in case of sunburn, if you were surprised by the UV. The days following a sunburnit is essential not to expose yourself.

Our advice

Remember that it is imperative not to expose yourself between 12 am and 4 pm, the hottest hours and those when the solar radiation is the most intense. Clouds let the UV pass, so they do not protect the radiation and its harmful effects. Children are even more sensitive than adults to heat stroke and the harmful effects of the sun before puberty. So, be intractable on their protection!
