Is my child spoiled?

The limits, in theeducation of a child, have several functions: to teach them that their desire is not always feasible and to preserve a margin for us not to fall into servitude.

There are many ways to spoil children: when it is pleasurable to them, that the fulfillment of their desire does not encroach on other family members, that their desire is reasonable and that saying "yes" has been carefully considered in the sense what's best for him too, there's no reason to feel guilty! Let's spoil them. This is called a small pleasure well defined, well defined and well explained. But when you pass all the whims to have peace and that Chouchou wins all the battles, then there is a problem.

The adult is the parent. It is you who determines the rules, hold the decision-making capacity, even if you frustrate your child. Learning to bend to constraints is good for your child because when he goes to school or goes to the adult world, he will have to deal with the limits. The adult he will become must be structured and it starts in childhood: each stage of life must be taken with its lot of frustrations and pleasures without excess to be able to go to the next stage.

Why do you spoil children? This is a question that every parent must ask. Do you feel guilty of overworking? Do we have trouble with authority? Do we think we should please our children? Is it a search for love? Knowing that we do not serve our children by spoiling them too much, it is good to first solve these questions with ourselves.

Our advice
If spoiling a child is not desirable, never spoil him is not better for him! Give him time and affection, encouragement and rewards are also part ofeducation. Now, a reward is not necessarily an expensive gift. Just do it with love and generosity to fill the young recipient.
