John Travolta to face Denzel Washington in the remake of the movie "Pirates of the Underground"
John Travolta will embody a leader of a group of thugs kidnapping a subway train from New York. Denzel Washington will take over the role of Police Lieutenant Zachary Garber, originally held by Walter Matthau (Denis Malice, 1993) in the original signed Joseph Sargent (The Teeth of the Sea 4: revenge, 1987) in 1974 .
The Pirates of the Underground (The Taking of Pelham 1, 2, 3 in original version) is based on a novel by Morton Freedgood released under the pseudonym John Godey. David Koepp took on the new adaptation of the book. He is the author of Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull Kingdom and is currently working on the fourth episode of Spider Man.
Shooting in the first quarter of 2008, the remake will seal the fourth collaboration of Denzel Washington with Tony Scott after USS Alamaba (1995), Man on Fire (2004) and Déjà vu (2006). Denzel Washinton will be playing at American Gangster on November 14th. The film was directed by Ridley Scott, father of Tony Scott.
