Popcorn gourmet version: 5 ways to revisit popcorn

The reputation of popcorn's "junk food" precedes it. However, what is bad is often what goes with it. It becomes 4 times more caloric when covered with butter! Nature, it is rather light: a large salad bowl of popcorn represents about 400 calories. But above all, popcorn makes it possible to make recipes full of pep's.

Popcorn and soup

Corn, onions, broth, a little cream, a pinch of nutmeg and in the end ... popcorn. With its crunchy texture, it advantageously replaces croutons for a soup more fun where corn is king.

Popcorn and breadcrumbs

For a light and original breading, popcorn is your ally. Place in a blender popcorn, some grilled onions, a little garlic semolina and mix everything until a homogeneous powder. You will get a light, delicious breading with fish fillets.

Popcorn and salad

Just like for the soup, the popcorn can advantageously replace the croutons of a salad. A recipe that lends itself particularly well: celery, grated carrots, some shallots and small cheddar cubes. To preserve the effect of surprise, bring salad and popcorn in two separate salad bowls and mix under the amazed eyes of your guests.

Popcorn and cakes

Sweet popcorn, everyone knows. But the cake popcorn, did you hear about it? By mixing with the dough a little popcorn, this dessert is both mellow and crisp. You can also top with caramel or icing on top of cake and add the popcorns, for a dessert as beautiful as good.

Popcorn in bar

Fed up with cereal bars? Make your own popcorn bars. Mix the popcorn in a large salad bowl with what you crave: coconut, almonds, chocolate chips ... Then in a skillet, over low heat, put honey, brown sugar and a pinch of salt until with total dissolution of the sugar. Stir in the popcorn, place the mixture in a dish and refrigerate for one hour. You can then cut out your popcorn bars, ready to be taken everywhere!
