The 10 best rosé wines of the Midi to drink this summer

(Relaxnews) - The Que Choisir association has published a comparative study on wines rosé du Midi, the alcoholic drink par excellence of summer. To achieve this test, the Que Choisir teams were based on wines from six appellations: Coteaux-Var Rosé, Coteaux d'Aix-en-Provence Rosé, Côtes de Provence Rosé, Wine of countries of Oc rosé, wines from the sands of the gulf of the lion and finally Bandol.

The tasting, recalls the association, was carried out blind last May by the association Culture & Goût in the presence of several amateur tasters and a professional. After the tastings of 57 wines, marks were awarded on a scale of 20 points. Only ten wines obtained a grade between 11 and 12. Those are, according to Que Choisir, "an acceptable vintage from a vintage of a certain quality, more or less fruity".

The rating is based on "the level of the terroir, the aromatic complexity, the length in the mouth, the presence of defects related to grapes, winemaking, aging or bottling".
