Klorane Laboratories are founded in 1966 in Castres, in the Tarn, on the initiative of Pierre Fabre, then a young pharmacist passionate about botany and innovation. He launches a line of shampoos very innovative: shampoos with plant actives.

The principle: capitalize on botanical know-how. The plants are chosen among those which have a known past, which are in the memory of men and which have an activity recognized by tradition: Henna for its reflections auburn, calendula with soothing properties, chamomile which gives birth to the famous shampoo for blond hair, which has since, still so successful with the public.

Riding on the rise of dermo-cosmetics, in 1967 Klorane developed the Klorane Bébé range. With an irreproachable brand image: safe, effective, natural products, scientifically proven rigorously. Very quickly, focusing its communication on maternity, the Klorane Bébé range is adopted by mothers.
Then the shampoos treatment and reflections come in turn complete the shampoo range in 1968.
