Time change: 5 tips to help your child adapt

Winter is fast approaching ... This Sunday, we will change time! Our alarm clock will be advanced by one hour. In the evening at 18h, so it will often be dark. This ritual introduced in 1976 can therefore somewhat disturb the different rhythms, especially among children. Fortunately, we adapt more quickly when we are young. In two or three days, children will have already incorporated their new rhythm.
But there are still some tips to help your toddlers to spend this time change smoothly. The most disturbed are the children from 3 to 7 years old. They can be a little more agitated in class, difficult to sleep in the evening and quite tired on waking. Here are some tips.

1. Do not advance the sunset one hour at a time
To help your little one to be in better shape, you can delay the sleep 10 minutes by 10 minutes the week before the change of time, or even after. If they have a habit of going to bed at 8 pm, put them to bed around 8:10 pm and 8:20 pm, 8:30 pm. That way, on Sunday, when they think to go to bed at 8:30 pm or 45, it will now be 19:30 / 19:45. A change too brutal will be more difficult to assimilate. They will not be tired.

2. Respect his sleep time
The children need to have a steady pace to flourish well. The most important thing is to make sure you always respect your time. sleep. If your child is used to sleep 9 or 10 hours, do not let him sleep an hour more or less. Try to adjust the sunsets and the alarms so that the duration stays regular.

3. Mitigate light and noise on D-day
The time change will take place in the night from Saturday to Sunday. Sunday evening, it will be 19h while it would be 20h at the time of summer. To put thechild in the best conditions, dim the light during the day

4. Small cure of vitamin C
If your child feel tired because of the change of time and the drop in brightness, do not hesitate to give it a little vitamin C. You can consult a doctor to be sure of you.

5. Shift babies' babies

Babies also have a good biological rhythm since it is fifteen hours. To help them, parents should not be too insistent about fixed meal times. Gradually shift the hours of baby bottles but give him especially to eat when he is hungry.
