3 tips to remove the pacifier

Tip # 1: Respect your child's natural rhythm
Before 2 years, it is normal that a child keep her pacifier. So do not try to delete it before this age because children still need to be reassured by the pacifier that reminds them of the suckling of their life of baby. But around 2 or 3 years, your child must begin to be able to do without it because it is an age where it is more turned towards the others children and the games, so less to himself and his sacrosanct pacifier that he must learn to leave aside.

Tip # 2: Make a gradual weaning
Do not remove the pacifier at once because your child may you ask for more! Remember that this pacifier is reassuring for him. Removing him suddenly may therefore stress him and make him cry. He will only have one desire: to recover his lollipop. All the opposite of the goal. Go there rather gently to make him forget his pacifier. For example, you can take it off when you go out and give it back to sleep.

Tip # 3: Avoid negative messages
" You are an baby ! Look at others children They do not have a pacifier! ". This is often what parents say to their child who does not want to leave his lollipop and yet it is often inefficient ... The reason? Thechild feels denigrated and clings even more to this lollipop that reassures him. For your child listen to you, reverse the process and value it. Tell him rather that he grew up and he does not need a pacifier anymore!
