Halle Berry: "Nothing is more important than my role as a mother"
Oscared in 2002 for his role in the film In the Shadow of Hate, Halle Berry is one of Hollywood's hottest actresses. She is however far from having taken the big head and confesses besides Thursday in the Sun that there was for her, "nothing more important than [her] role of mum".
In 2008, Halle Berry gave birth to a little Nahla Ariela, born from her union with Gabriel Aubry, and despite the roles that ensued, Halle Berry made her daughter a priority. His separation from the Quebec model and the ensuing legal battle for the care of the little girl all the more accentuated the instinct of maternity of the actress.
Becoming a mother late, at almost 42, Halle Berry remains lucid "I was right to wait, I do not think I would have been as good a mother as today when I was in my twenties or even thirties (...)" It took me a long time to realize some things - who I was, how to be happy - before I could say that I could finally be the mother I wanted to be.
Raised by a single mother, after the separation of her parents when she was only 4 years old, Halle Berry has long shot the wrong number in his love life. After two marriages, two divorces, and stories with often brutal men who never gave her any gifts, the actress and mum blooming finally seems to have reached a form of fullness.
