Soprano stop does not detract from HBO's success

The end of the series Sopranos marked for HBO the loss of its last flagship series that had largely contributed to the success of the network. However, with 29 million subscribers, HBO remains the most watched pay channel in the US, ahead of Showtime and FX.

Viewers remain at the rendezvous, their choice does not seem to be focused on the series offered but more on sports programs. If HBO has been a pioneering channel in the renewal of television series, other toll networks are taking over. Showtime, which plans to reach 15 million subscribers by the end of the year, is making a name for itself by broadcasting atypical and original dramas such as Weeds, Dexter and Californication. The other production channel is FX Network, a subsidiary of FOX, which has been offering bold programs in recent years (Nip / Tuck, The Shield, Damages, Dirt...)

To fill the loss of his cult series as Rome, Deadwood or Sex and The City, HBO will soon be releasing new series that will be added to entourage, Big Love and Tell Me You Love Me.

The channel has ordered forty episodes ofIn Treatment, a comedy produced by actor Mark Wahlberg where a therapist with disastrous privacy is obliged to consult himself a psychiatrist. In Treatment is the adaptation of an Israeli cardboard Be Tipul.

Next year will mark the great return of Alan Ball, the creator of Six Feet Under, on television with True Blood, a fantastic series about a community of vampires.

Finally, the director of Ghost Rider, Mark Steven Johnson will adapt for the needs of HBO the comic book Preacher.
