Playmobil a story that lasts
The story of Playmobil begins in 1974 at Geobra Brandstäetter, a company specializing in the world of toys and leisure products such as hula hoop for example. Hans Beck, a carpentry employee, turns to one of the Hörst Brandstätter businessmen to design this model together. In spite of the oil crisis, the two men revolutionized the market of the child by inventing a small plastic character of 7,5 cm. Modular, suitable for children and accompanied by small accessories, this figure based on a simple concept, based on the imagination of children. This toy has become in a few times unavoidable and continues to dream young and old. Regarding the manufacture of the figurine? The principle is simple, the 60 designers must keep their children's eyes, observe and document themselves. Nearly 400 production machines assemble different parts of accessories such as the wheel of a truck or the door of a castle. Once all the steps have been completed, the Dietenhofen company will send nearly 150,000 Playmobil boxes a day, to the delight of the children.
Leader of the toy market in France, Playmobil has manufactured nearly 2.5 billion figurines since its creation. Each year more than one hundred new characters are born and the brand tries to renew its themes. Moreover, there are now more than 30 themes and 700 imagined figures. For example this year "Life at the port" and "Future Planet" are at the rendezvous. Classics like princesses and pirates are regularly reworked.
Playmobil is back
After having imagined a collection of athletes at the London 2012 Olympic Games, Playmobil is back for the autumn by unveiling two new exclusive boxes, which will delight little boys and girls. For the return of the holidays and to enjoy a little more of the last rays of sun, Playmobil has created a box called "The Fisherman's Cabin with Seaplane and Orcas". You will find the small house, with 5 figures who can take the canoe, grill fish or even watch the squirrels, geese, owl and see an orca. Count 70 euros for this box.
