I never do the sales with a precise plan of style "I will buy such pants or such a pair of shoes ...". I did it at one time and I was always disappointed. Indeed, as I do sizes "standard" (38 in pants and 39 for shoes), the models were always out of stock.
Now, I grab the bargains: if I go into a store and I find a garment that I like, I take it if it is sold enough (at least 30% discount) and ... if I go of course ! In this way, I am never disappointed by the sales and I can only have good surprises!
My good deals:
This year, I bought an old pink coat at Kookai with a 50% discount. I am all the more glad that I did not think I could find this garment for this price (65?!).

My tips and tricks :
I do the tracking at least a month before the start of sales and I list what I absolutely want. Example: the same turtleneck sweater I already have in black and pink, I know it exists in red so it will be my first victim. I already know the article and my size, so I can not be disappointed.
I never try during sales : It's hot and there are plenty of people! So I know perfectly my measurements and even my fingertip (you never know ...). Ditto for husband and children.
I prefer the nocturnes and if not, I go to my shop favorite the first day at the opening (so I put my morning at work) and I'm heading to the right radius (I know by heart the layout of the store). I avoid window shopping and I only refer to my list.
I do not forget to call my bank the day before to know if I can make a carnage or not.
During this period, I also look on the Internet sites Yoox and Rushcollection who sell designer clothes. The rest of the year, I subscribe to the lists of shops and show rooms: during salesthey send me more discounts.
My best deals:
- The ring I had been dreaming for three years: Seventies Dinh Van at 530? instead of 1060
- Agnes pants b. black at 75? instead of 150
- A small exotic wooden table Family house at 60? took place of 350 (!)

Since I'm crazy about clothes, I often do shops. When an article really pleases me, I do not wait for sales to buy it because I'm afraid it is no longer available in my size.
On the other hand, if I judge this article too expensive, I wait for them sales.... And I regularly go into the shop to check that they have not put it on sale (you never know ...).
After a while, the salesgirls get to know me so I take this opportunity to ask them for details about the beginning of sales, promotional items etc. I even ask that we put aside a garment that I come to look for the first day of sales. But this is only possible in small shops, with big brands it's difficult.
When the sales begin, as I have already done a tracking, I am on the items I selected. In fact, I do not really like to go shopping at this time, there are too many people. I limit my purchases.

I first start by spotting what I like off sales and I note everything. I have a list with the prices of the items I selected. I sometimes ask the salesgirl, whom I usually know a little, to put aside an article. If she agrees, I go back as soon as possible from the beginning of the sales.
I have another list of what I have seen in the press, often known brands and luxury, guaranteeing a real quality and a particular cachet. I then go into my shops favorite: Vanessa Bruno, Prada, Zadig & Voltaire, Joseph ...
We must agree to walk a lot, according to chance, because we can discover the rare pearl in a small shop that nobody knows! I love it ....I also have my shops neighborhood and I always find pairs of classy and sophisticated shoes and waders.
The plus, due to a good information network, are the sales press. But it's not worth the sales between girlfriends where the best deals are made!

I bought Sergio Rossi shoes at more than half the price and a Mac Douglas jacket discussing with the seller. He lowered the price because I really wanted it but I hesitated a lot ...
Otherwise, I bought a Prada bag. I know where to find new models at low prices ... but I jealously guard the address!
