A few extra pounds would be good for your health

According to an American study published in the journal Journal of the American Medical Associationto have some extra pounds would be good for a good health. This large-scale survey consisted of analyzing the health 2.3 million Americans before their deaths. The findings show that weight slightly above normal "would protect some diseases", like the diseases kidney.

The authors of the study found that people with a few extra pounds would be less prone to diabetes and diseases renal that people from weight normal or below normal. Nor would they be victims of diseases cardiovascular or cancer.

On the other hand, a significant overweight, or a situation of obesity is synonymous with an increase in the risk of contracting many diseases. Dr. Katherine Flegal, director of the study, reminds us that obesity is a major risk factor for death.
