Kate Winslet and Scarlett Johansson without makeup for Vanity Fair

"The adorable Scarlett Johansson was photographed without makeup for our 2014 Hollywood portfolio " wrote the magazine Vanity Fair US, on his Facebook account, tonight. To support his comments, a photo of the pretty blonde accompanied this message. Scarlett posed, smiling, her hair loose, without styling, her skin bare. Vanity Fair then invited its readers to discover other stars who, too, agree to ask the natural way. We would then arrive on their site, with a slide show showing Brad Pitt and Oprah Winfrey, without any artifice. A series of portraits by renowned photographer Chuck Close whose mission here was to photograph 20 Hollywood stars, without makeup or beauty. The result is both surprising and touching. There are few opportunities to see our stars this way. Thus photographed, however, these celebrities seem to us much more human and accessible.
Strict instructions
"No hair, no makeup, no wardrobe" says Chuck Close in a making-of interview visible, again, on the website of Vanity Fair magazine. The photographer's instructions were clear, clear and precise. Prohibition of highlighting with beauty products and designer outfits. He would have asked, in all simplicity, our dear celebrities: "take something and come like this". The stars then had to sit in front of Chuck Close's impressive Polaroid camera. A moment almost "intimidating" for some. "Some people will think I was cruel," adds the photographer, but others will say to themselves: "thank god, someone who chooses people as real people, for what they are". We tend to look for the second option ...
