Miss World: Exit the swimsuit for 2015!
To the greatest despair of some and some, the next edition of Miss World will not see his passage in a bikini. While the election of the 2014 edition took place a few days ago, the president of the committee expressed last Friday, December 19, by the voice of Julia Morley, put an end to this essential practice of the event founded in 1951.
This was justified by explaining to the magazine SHE UK: "I do not need to see girls come and go in bikinis. This did notno interest for the candidates. And that has none for us ".
The basic idea is to stand out from the competing competition, Miss Universe, created in 1996, during which the candidates do not take the floor. Julia Morley added to the British edition of ELLE: "I do not care if one girl has bigger buttocks than another. We do not look at their buttocks. We much prefer to listen to what they have to say".
This announcement will take effect from the next election, in 2015. In fact, Miss South African, Rolene Strauss, will remain the last to parade in swimsuit.
This new mark a real turning point for this election, originally titled "Bikini Contest Festival ". Perhaps this decision will calm the sharp criticism of the contest by feminists, considering this type of election misogynistic and sexist.
