The image

Two options are available: a 16 / 9e TV or a video projector coupled with a large screen. The second solution offers a huge immersion in the film ... but is more bulky.

Size
By convention, it is from the diagonal that we measure the size of a screen, and in inches. Thus, 28 inches equals about 72 centimeters. For very large models, go directly to the plasma screens. Their colors are also better, but they are easily twice as expensive.

Frequency
It indicates the speed at which each point of the image is displayed. It is almost always 50 Hz, but there are also projectors at 100 Hz. The image is displayed twice as fast, and seems much more fluid.

Design
As for the speakers, tune your TV to your decor (or vice versa, if necessary). Choose the extra-flat screens: wall-clad, they are the best effect.

Projectors
A technology to favor: DLP (Digital Light Processing). On the other hand, avoid LCD projectors, even if their prices are attractive: they are intended for computers.

The resolution
It represents the number of points that the projector can display, both in width and in height ... in other words, both the size and the quality of the image. It must be at least 1024 by 768 pixels.

The luminosity
Even if you watch your movie in complete darkness, it is important to have a projector as bright as possible, it is more comfortable for the eyes. It is measured in lumens, and a good projection must be worth at least 800.

The contrast
The higher this rate, the better you'll see the nuances between the dark colors. To best appreciate your movies, opt for a minimum of 2500: 1.

The projection screen
As much for the aesthetics as for the simplicity of use, buy one that clings to the ceiling and unrolls, rather than set on foot. Sold separately from the projector, it will cost you about 250 euros extra for a screen of 200 by 150 centimeters.
