Exclusive Interview: The designer Alexis Mabille looke La Redoute
At 31, Alexis Mabille is a young stylist who gets talked about. The man with the bow tie was trained at good school. Alongside John Galliano at Dior for 9 years, he learned everything. In 2005, he decides to go out on his own and starts his own fashion house Dead end 13.
Today he is the guest of La Redoute and sign an original feminine collection (splendid same!) for the new catalog Fall-Winter 2009-2010. In writing, we are already fans of the artist. Alexis Mabille : For me nothing, I approach the general public as I approach my private clients. I offer them options and the customers like them or not ... I prefer when they like them! When you create a garment, it is to create a heart stroke and emotion.
What are the characteristics of your collection?
Alexis Mabille : The characteristics are clear and personal: Masculine-feminine, Tatting, Color. We worked on the great masculine classics with a bourgeois but twisted connotation ...
How did you manage to integrate your signature butterfly node into the line?
Alexis Mabille : The signature butterfly knot on the chest is a very personal and easy collection for all. Each cut is reflected to be as obvious on a tall woman or smaller, thin or less. It is a way of wearing fashion pieces and also an openness to every consumer to express his personality in Alexis Mabille.
What do you think is the flagship garment of the year and the color not to be missed?
Alexis Mabille : Ahhhh the flagship garment of the year? I would say shirt dress. And the blue night for the color.
What are your projects ? Do you have the side of the decoration?
Alexis Mabille : Projects ? Always a lot ! My first man show at the end of June, the decor perhaps, but also many other things in progress but not yet well defined ...
