Help my guy is a geek!

You hold your breath as you enter the door and prepare psychologically to discover new finds of your man. Your intuition did not deceive you, it is no longer twelve piles of comics that are piled up in a corner of the living room but thirteen! An explanation is needed ...

There is no need to go through the apartment looking for the accused: he is obviously planted in front of his computer. His new obsession of the moment is called Dofus. For you, a kind of new-generation Pokémon, for him, nothing to see: "A massively multiplayer role-playing game halfway between tactical video game and interactive cartoon." You try to cut short his technical gibberish and talk to him about these pesky comics he just bought. Nothing to do, he is in a second state, focused on his screen. You capitulate.

The geek universe

Anyway, coming from him, nothing surprises you anymore. It's been years that he ruins himself in the latest electronic products, he devotes more than four hours a day to video games, your movie nights have turned into DVD nights and science fiction movies incomprehensible and soporific have come to replace the films with rose water. In your windows, your beautiful tableware has been replaced by his Zodiac Knights figurines and your shelves are now filled with manga.

Nothing seems to stop his buying fever, you can forbid him to go shopping without you, he orders everything on the Internet as soon as you have your back turned! Your apartment looks like a battlefield but it does not seem to worry. When you have the audacity to propose to him to give, resell or throw (sacrilege!) The articles he has in duplicate, sir becomes hysterical.

A geek among the geeks

Forgotten outings with friends, evenings lovers, now the festivities are at home, your man offers every night head-to-head with his computer and plasma screen. And when friends come home, you have a hard time understanding what they're saying. Because a geek knows how to surround himself ... with geeks! Difficult to integrate in the midst of all these fanatics of the same species.

So, tonight, it's you who spend the evening face-to-face with your fashion magazine. And fashion, let's talk about it! The look of your half leaves a lot to be desired! The Star Wars t-shirt, the badly cut jeans and the sneakers bought in 1998, we rarely saw worse! Of course, you had put yourself in the head of the makeover but the clothes bought that day often remain in the closet.

My geek, this adulescent

Finally, living with a geek is a bit like living with a child. You spend your time forbidding him or her, he whims, pretends not to hear you and will take refuge with his computer as soon as you raise the tone.

When you go on a weekend without him, you can be sure that when you return, you will not be disappointed in the show. You will find his eyes puffed by his sleepless nights spent in front of the screen, the nascent beard, sometimes in the same outfit as the day you left it. The pizza boxes will litter the floor and the laundry that you have asked him to do will always be in his basket ... You do not have the strength to lecture him and finally the laundry will be for you!

Let yourself be tempted by geekitude!

Living with a geek is anything but easy, but after all, you could have packed up a long time ago. There is no couple without concessions, living together without any adaptation effort. Your half is hooked on his screen, that does not mean that he does not like you and that he does not appreciate your presence at his side. Rather than steer you, try to interest yourself in his passions, in return he will devote more time.

Beyond the prejudices and mockery of which they are the target, the geeks are above all people attached to their childhood who live in their world of dreams and magic. Their imaginative power is uncommon and they often express the desire to share it. Your man is extending his hand to you, taking it and attempting the journey. Who knows, maybe a geek is hiding in you ...
