La Redoute celebrates 80 years of its catalog

To celebrate the 80th anniversary of his catalog, La Redoute proposes an exhibition, ''La Redoute, a story of Modes and Photographs '' which will be held from May 15 to June 27 at the Public Condition of Roubaix.
This exhibition is set up in partnership with the Lille Festival Transphotographiques and offers a retrospective of the greatest moments of the catalog.
Covers, collections designed in collaboration with fashion designers and creators, guest stars: this exhibition is an opportunity to revisit the history of the legendary mail order catalog.

Launched in 1928, the first edition consisted of only 16 pages and featured some 40 knit items. In 1945, the catalog is enriched with new products, including furniture. Over the decades, La Redoute becomes the "home store" that we know today. The format has changed: true bible trends, the catalog today looks like a pavement! Success requires, it is distributed to nearly 8 million copies.
To last, it was necessary to innovate and stay '' in the shot '' Sign of the times, the last novelty of the mail order is an ecological catalog, the '' Pocket '' created for the spring-summer 2008 collection.
