Louis Vuitton: total checkered look for spring-summer 2013
The presentation Louis Vuitton was one of the most anticipated of this Fashion Week. The latest Vuitton collection designed by Marc Jacobs had been a great success, the summer 2013 version was therefore among the most important for fashionistas around the world. It is therefore under the watch of Antoine Arnault, director of the communication of Louis Vuitton and her sublime companion, top Natalia Vodianova that creator Marc Jacobs, opened the show.
A parade which begins under the sign of originality from the discovery of the decor. The French artist Daniel Buren has worked on the design of this decor nestled in the square courtyard of the Louvre. This mythical place gave way to a podium covered with yellow and white checkers and four escalators on which the mannequins followed one another. A modern decor that paradoxically repeats one of the oldest monograms of the house Louis Vuitton, the checkerboard, since the latter dates from 1888.
The collection is very punchy thanks to the graphic movements that the checkers bring, but also, because of the choice of acidulous colors. Marc Jacobs justifies the choice of this checkered pattern by explaining that "it is a motive in movement, a rhythm, a mathematical equation, a kind of movement and perpetual changeThe silhouettes are very simple and straight so as to calm down the game of prints.The checkerboard is not only reserved for leather goods at home. Louis Vuittonit will be necessary to apprehend it on our daily outfits.
