The red varieties of the Saumur Champigny (The most famous of Anjou wines) are Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Pineau d'Aunis.

We recommend the Saumur Champigny du Clos Rougeard, produced by the Foucault brothers in Chacé:
A racy red, tender and elegant, with a pleasant nose of peppers and vanilla. It has redcurrant aromas, accompanied by a subtle vegetal note. It combines vivacity and finesse with a generous and mature character, emphasized by a slight woody note.
