The little story of Carambar
his beginnings : it is in 1954 that will be born the famous carambar. The basic idea of the creative factory, Delspaul-Havez, is to add a surplus of cocoa to caramel. From there comes its authentic taste. As for its bar-shaped 8 cm long, the legend says that a machine would be out of order and would have output a long caramel which was not originally planned. It is called Carambar with reference to its composition in caramel and its bar form. A simple recipe that has conquered children. Since 1969, this sweet bar contains in its packaging funny stories, riddles and even challenges.
His evolution : today this famous candy shaped bar exists in a multitude of tastes to meet all our desires, strawberry, orange, exotic fruits, cotton candy ... or bitchy, atomic, with powder that stings in it. There are also several textures now, it does not necessarily stick to the teeth. The Carambars Flex are soft and the Carambars Molo melt in the mouth. Different sizes are available too.
Anecdote : in the 60s a Carambar cost five centimes franc. Today, it is marketed at a price of 0.15 euros, so a little less than one franc. In 40 years its price has increased by more than 2,000%. And if the size of the Carambar had had the same inflation, it would measure 80 centimeters.
