Treating insect bites

To avoid getting insect bites, first take a few precautions to avoid them! The essential oils of lemongrass, basil or geranium repel mosquitoes. Soak a cotton pad in your child's room. You can also bet on natural candles ... or product diffusers to connect to electrical outlets. Chiggers are especially present in lawns: protect the health of your children by asking them to play in the grass with pants or long sleeves.

The first gesture following an insect bite is disinfection. You can do it with soap and water, then apply a disinfectant and an anti-itch cream. The alum stone has the property of disinfecting the insect bite and to calm the irritation. Apply it on wet skin.

If the sting contains the sting of the insect, you need to remove it with the tweezers.

To calm the pain from the insect bite, apply a cotton swab soaked in vinegar or lemon. The essential oil of lavender aspic has a power analgesic, antiseptic, antivenom and cicatrisant. Calendula oil effectively soothes itching.

If your child has a tick bitethe tick rostrum should be removed with tweezers. Apply beforehand a cotton soaked with ether to put the tick to sleep. Disinfect the wound, but only once the tick is removed to prevent it from releasing a substrate that increases the risk of infection.

If your child is allergic to insect bites or shows signs of redness, swelling or infection, do not hesitate to take him to a doctor as soon as possible.
