Claude Sarraute, dean of the band in Ruquier, based his success as a writer on his very contemporary humor. A fine observer, she uses her sharp pen to describe the small tricks of our society. His new subject of study? Cosmetic surgery and, more broadly, the irrational quest for beauty.
The two main characters of "Belle belle belle", Patricia and Lisa, two sisters, are themselves victims of this current. But around them, it's even worse! First, their mother who refuses to grow old and can not stand her wrinkles anymore. Then Axelle, fifteen years old, the daughter of Lisa, who would like to have an adult breast and would find it logical to be added by a specialist. Not to mention their girlfriends, who want buttocks and breasts and more, and less stomach.
This amusing caricature is thus a real criticism of the dictatorship of appearance.
