Fashion Week: Burberry flirts with Web 2.0

After Louis Vuitton and Etam on Facebook, Emporio Armani on his website, it's now Burberry to make the buzz on the web by broadcasting his parade live on his Facebook page and on his site.

Pioneer of web 2.0 with its mini-site dedicated to the trench on which netizens fans of the brand could post their best looks, Burberry takes another step towards the web by broadcasting today its parade on the web and in private projection in high fashion places like Colette in Paris.

While the Internet (via bloggers and social networks) has never been so important, the brands are trying to seduce these 2.0 customers via Iphone apps (for Dior, Chanel for example) but also by going to meet them via the democratization of parades.

So far reserved to a handful of ultra VIP fashion editors (Anna Wintour & co), parades are gradually opening up to bloggers (30% of guests this year compared to 20% the previous season (source Time), creating a rivalry between journalists and bloggers.Anyway these quarrels rags, the brands have well understood that fashion could no longer afford to cut himself off from his (future) customers.
