Migraines: "I have been addicted to drugs"

"I have been a migraine sufferer since about the age of 13. But it was at the age of 40 that everything changed: at the time, I was very stressed by my children: exams, driving license, casual behavior ... I recognize this today, I have been too worried for them.At stressing, I had more and more migraines. The crises were becoming stronger and especially more intolerable.

At the time, I looked after myself. I took analgesics and anti-inflammatories and gradually, I increased the doses. But the more I took these pharmaceuticals and more I had a headache, so I intensified the catches. I did not understand why they were doing this to me. After a while, I went to see a neurologist who showed me the truth: I was addicted to pharmaceuticals.

It took me a long time to admit the truth. I, a responsible mother with my head on the shoulders, I had become addicted. I was addicted as well as drug addicts, smokers and alcoholics. It was an electroshock.

Then, I started weaning, I did cures and I started a therapy to get out of there and to understand how I could fall into the trap of addiction. Since then, it's better. I still have some migraines from time to time because of stress. Now, I'm suspicious of pharmaceuticals like the plague. I am my order to the letter and especially, I do not increase the doses. I understood the lesson! "
