Soon a hotel for children?
Brussels was already known for its waffles and its European institutions. The Belgian capital will perhaps one day be famous for its hotel designed just for children. Indeed, this is where the Baby Hotel International, currently in development, decided to establish.
The concept of this establishment is to offer parents who are absent for professional reasons, medical or otherwise, to keep their children for a short period or a long stay. During this period, toddlers from 0 to 9 years will be pampered by a team of professionals: nurserymen, facilitators, storytellers. Nurses, child psychiatrists and a dietician will also be present for the health and well-being of the young.
The establishment also offers to accompany children to the nursery or school. And if the kids want to learn to swim, everything is planned because a lifeguard has even been recruited. In addition, the children's room can also be decorated to their liking so that they feel for the best in their new environment.
A concept that is not unanimous
While this project may appeal to wealthy and busy parents, it also has its detractors. For the Office of Birth and Childhood (the Belgian francophone body dedicated to children), it is neither more nor less than a "child abandonment.
For the hotel, on the contrary, "the child has a part of a social life appropriate to his age and on the other hand, does not face the stress of parents tired and overworked by the hectic life of adults today.
