For five days, the 14,000 square meters of the Parc des Expositions at the Porte de Versailles, in Paris, will welcome more than 400 participants, including 130 chocolatiers, from France, but also from Germany, Belgium, Canada, Japan, from Italy, Russia, Switzerland or Syria. Beautiful tastings in perspective. And, whatever question you ask yourself about the chocolateyou will find the answer. A short presentation of the main events.
Exhibitions, to know everything about chocolate
- Over 250 square meters, the main exhibition traces the history of the chocolate, the secrets of its culture and the recipe for its manufacture.
- A retrospective on porcelain chocolates will invite you to discover this forgotten kitchen utensil, thanks to which generations of children drank chocolates hot delicious.
- The "Small sensitive museum of gluttony" is an area of painting, poetry and sculpture to convey the emotions of gourmands.
- The Dardenne collection includes nearly 50,000 metal boxes, advertising or utilitarian, decorated, lithographed, colored, and made in the twentieth century ...
Beauty or well-being: chocolate care
Effect bursting, anti-stress or nourishing ... all these care products made by Bernard Cassière are based on chocolate. Let's also mention the waxing of chocolate or the cocoa massage butter. Unbelievable !
The box of season
Directed jointly by twelve master chocolatiers of the show, this box will include one piece per month of the year, and will be sold 15?
Three competitions
- The Charles Proust competition has been, for almost half a century, one of the most prestigious pastry competitions. It is back in fashion this year, and is aimed at all pastry chefs, chocolatiers and ice cream makers from all over the world.
It consists in producing the most beautiful piece of art, both on the visual aspect (the theme will be "fairy tales") that taste (with the constraint "chocolate and coffee ").
- Monday, October 30 at 4 pm, will be held the award ceremony of the Awards of the chocolate 2006. This competition rewards the best chocolate artisans in the world and chocolates the most outstanding among eight winners, who had to prove themselves in previous months.
- The laureate best representing the "Chocolate Attitude "will be elected" Miss cacao 2006 ", and will win a stay in Alsace in a hotel Relais & Châteaux, with gastronomic dinner, massages and treatments at chocolate. The second will win beauty products, and the third a basket of tablets of chocolate and a perfume chocolate.
Not to mention what each of the 400 exhibitors will have to offer!
