Get ready to take a deep breath of fresh air! The central figure, Joseph (Grégori Derangère) is a seasonal worker. He goes from farm to farm offering his services: milking cows, plowing and cultivating fields, etc. A profession prevalent at the time (the story takes place in 1950). The opportunity for city dwellers, as for today's farmers, to discover the rough, physical but (obviously) true life of those who barely knew the tractors and the milking machines of these peasants who had not yet become farmers.
In this relaxing atmosphere (for the spectator at least), will be born some romantic intrigues. Because Joseph is a handsome man (a "handsome guy", to be more exact). He will first live a carnal adventure with the boss of the farm, Monique (Catherine Frot), then another, more sentimental, with his daughter Jeanne (Laura Smet). Not to mention his ambiguous relationship with the pharmacist, Angèle (Mathilde Seigner). Very quickly, supported by all these secrets, these silences and these unsaid, the movie becomes addictive
Florence Moncorgé-Gabin (daughter of Jean Gabin) was raised in the countryside. And for her first feature film, the director and screenwriter, has used her knowledge of this universe to make us discover a world both distant yet very close to us, while drawing some deep portraits ... which will be remembered long time.
