Xylitol birch: the 1001 benefits of this fake organic sugar

2 times less calories

Originally from Finland, birch xylitol is a natural sweetener extracted from the bark of this hardwood tree. Highly prized in the Nordic countries, this alternative sugar has the same sweetening power as sucrose but is almost half as caloric as this one (2.4 kcal / g against 4kcal / g) and has almost no impact on blood glucose.

As a result, birch xylitol arises as an ally thinness ideal in the race for the pounds.
Unlike many other sweeteners, this one can be used to sweeten all foods. It can be used to make all kinds of pastries, provided to reduce the amounts by about 40%, the sweetening power of birch xylitol increasing under heat.

An anti-caries sugar!
Therapeutic properties are also recognized. It helps to fight ear infections in young children and reduces the risk of cavities (and those already formed). It also refreshes the breath with its naturally fresh taste. This is one of the major reasons why it is regularly used by chewing gum and candy manufacturers. Thus, we consume without knowing because behind the name "without sugar"often hides birch xylitol!

Source of bloating and digestive problems, it is however recommended not to exceed 50mg per day.
More expensive than other sweeteners, birch xylitol is still difficult to find in non-organic shops, but can be easily obtained through the internet, in the form of white powder.
