A special shoe area opens at Galeries Lafayette

French women love shoes ! They are the biggest consumers in Europe, with six new pairs of shoes per year. They are 17% to have at least 20 pairs of shoes, and many do not hesitate to put the price to get the shoes of their dream. The footwear market represents nothing less than 4.5 billion euros, enough to give ideas!

On the strength of this finding, Galeries Lafayette have decided to throw themselves into the shoe market, and to do it well, they have opened a new space dedicated to Galeries Lafayette Haussmann located in Paris. This is 3,200 square meters which are now dedicated to the shoe. 150 brands share this space, of which 75 are exclusively present at the Galleries.

The opening of this first space in Paris is thus only the first phase of a large-scale operation launched by Galeries Lafayette who hope to open between 15 and 18 new spaces of this type per year in 2010 and 2011. Thus, other dedicated spaces will soon open their doors in Nice, Marseille, Nantes, Dijon and Tours. Note that in Tours and Dijon, men can also find their happiness.

This space for the beauty of the feet consists for the moment in five atmospheres: fashion, contemporary, urban, luxury and high-end. New services are also offered such as a closed fitting room, a foot beauty salon and an artisan shoemaker who is there to reinforce or give a boost to your shoes.
