The brand saga: Sephora

It is the English group of parapharmacy and cosmetic products, Bootswho opens the first store Sephora, rue de Passy in 1970. Until 1993, the Boots group will open 38 stores in France.

That year, Shop 8 perfume chain bought the chain Sephora and in 1995, the brand Sephora is officially created, based on the prism of colors and its iconic line of bath products. The opening of Sephora Champs Elysées offers a 1500 m² beauty area to roam freely, 7 days a week and until midnight.

The acquisition of Sephora by LVMH in 1997 offers the brand the opportunity to cross borders. After having absorbed 75 perfumes from the Marie-Jeanne Godard chain, Sephora opens a store in 1998 in New York, Portugal, Spain, Poland and Italy.
At the same time, the brand also exists on the web in 1997 in France and in 1999 in the United States.

Little by little, Sephora imposes a new image of perfumery offering on comfortable surfaces with three distinct spaces: perfume, make-up (color) and care. Customers can test perfumes and products. Everything is sober and luxurious, in a black and red decor.

Sephora continues to test spaces and audiences : after the opening in Montpellier of a shop for young people, the brand opens in Paris a Sephora White, dedicated to the well-being of body and mind. With 200 points of sale in France and more than 200 in Europe, Sephora imposed his concept beyond the hexagon.

Since 2005, Sephora stores have been offering new spaces : nail bars, eyebrow bars and smiles at the Champs-Élysées ... and exclusive foreign brands.
From 2006, Sephora extends to the United Arab Emirates, then successively to Turkey, Croatia and establishes itself in other countries of the Emirates and in 2008 in Singapore and Hong-Kong.
In France, the chain remains No. 2, on the heels of Marionnaud.
