Wedding cake: make an American wedding cake

The arrival of cake of wedding is often a highly anticipated moment of the evening. You have to impress your guests. The wedding cake usually makes this effect. So why not try to make it yourself?

 

 

Make cake and icing
It's a dessert complicated to achieve then prefer the intervention of a pastry chef (5 euros per share). A cake Three round floors of 35, 25 and 15 centimeters in diameter suffice for 100 guests.

Each cake is composed of sponge cake and cream : buttercream or ganache. The buttercream recipe used is a cream butter with Swiss meringue (egg whites and sugar, then butter). For the ganache, a mixture of cream liquid and chocolate enough.
Bake your cakes. Once these cakes are cold, wrap them first in a clear film then in aluminum foil and freeze them.


Realize floors
Like any good dessert, the wedding cake requires, for its realization, material: a plastic tray for the base, dividing plates (cardboard cut) and toothpicks. For the aesthetic side, we can integrate false polystyrene floors that will allow to have a cake even bigger.
For mounting the cakeyou will need jam or spread to stick the cakes together. Then lay them on top of each other in a pyramid.


Make the decorations
In general, the wedding cake is covered with sugar paste, a paste made from sugar and marshmallow that can be flavored and colored. Ell gives the smooth side to a wedding cake. It can then be decorated with other sugar dough elements: ribbons, knots. You can also draw on the sugar dough to the piping bag with royal ice to make peas or flowers, for example, or make figurines to personalize the bride and groom.
