A young woman facing cancer: The Chance Card of Elodie Attias

Elodie Attias is an author like no other. This 27-year-old woman fought a tough fight against Cancer for one year. Her autobiographical novel relates her painful experience, and all that she has taken from her and brought to her life as well.

It all started when in 2005, at the age of 23, the young Elodie was in Los Angeles and took part in the draw to obtain the green card, the precious opportunity to work in the United States. What luck, Elodie is drawn from the thousands of participants. And a simple radio of the lungs, an administrative formality to obtain her work permit, reveals an anomaly: the young woman is suffering from a Cancer bone or osteosarcoma.

With great modesty and a lot of humor, Elodie Attias tells this experience that has changed her life. At the age of exits, freedom and meetings, Elodie must live with chemotherapy, anxiety, worry of her relatives.

This book, written as a diary, is also a story full of hope. Over the course of this strong and moving testimony, Elodie shares with us her sufferings and her doubts, but also the mechanisms of survival that are set in motion and her joys day after day.

Elodie battled the disease for a year. Today, she works in fashion, and returned to France. She is happy, fulfilled and strong of what she has lived. A real ray of hope for those who are not yet healed and those who experience other suffering. This book is also a way to grasp the painful events of life differently, Trying not to suffer this suffering but to learn to live with, while being surrounded and helped.

The Chance Card, Editions JC Lattès, released on January 14, 18?
